During Body Voices Basic #2 in Tübingen in October, we continuously tracked the participants' wellbeing – at the beginning and end of each day, before and after each session. The development from the very first to the very last measurement shows: average wellbeing increased by 4.3 points on a scale from 0 to 10 from the beginning to the end of our workshop weekend. This is a powerful, measurable transformation. But why does our work have such a great effect?
Trauma is stored in the body
Trauma is stored in a part of the brain that cannot be reached through language. It is stored in the body, in every single cell. Talk therapy helps us understand what happened and what is going on inside us. This is important and valuable. But to truly integrate and overcome trauma, our experience shows that body-oriented methods that work directly with the body are needed. This is exactly what we offer with Body Voices.
A colorful bouquet – each participant chooses their flower(s)
Our work is based on diversity. We don't offer a one-size-fits-all approach, but rather a colorful bouquet of methods: breathwork to release stored emotions and stress. Singing and toning, which opens closed spaces through vibration. Movement and dancing as expression beyond language. Clay field therapy enables communication without words. Plus belly work, meditation, and TRE. Depending on location and group, we adapt our offering to support all participants in the best possible way.
Every survivor is unique. Each carries their own story, their own blockages, their own resources. Our colorful bouquet of methods enables each participant to find the method that fits best at the moment. One finds her way through intensive breathwork, another through movement, the next through quiet work with clay.
Healing needs the body
At Body Voices, we give the body back the voice that was taken from it. We create a safe space where it can express itself. This is our way of supporting healing. Bold, grounded & powerful.
The 4.3-point increase shows: this work works. But it shows something else – something just as powerful as the methods themselves. In the next post, we'll take you into the power of community and show what happens when 30 participants heal together.
