No. 21 – Body Voices Advanced: 9 Months, Three Weekends, and a Path That Continues
On September 26 and 27, the third weekend of the Body Voices Advanced Program took place in Tübingen. With it, the official part of the program has come to a close. Since the beginning of the year, we have supported five people across three weekends and online sessions. The developments we were able to witness and accompany during this time are inspiring and deeply moving.
A Weekend for Healing, Growth & Community
We started our days together in Tübingen each morning with restorative yoga with Noe Toscanini. The program through the evening was led by Brigitta Vos and Debora Tassone. Alongside breathwork and individual coaching, we used the third weekend to reflect and to look ahead.
Saturday was dedicated to reflection: What has changed in my life since the beginning of the year? How do I anchor the tools I learned in Body Voices Advanced in my everyday life? Of course, we have worked with trauma over the past months. But the focus was and remains on individual goals such as living more authentically, feeling more lightness, and accepting oneself as one is. Along the way, we celebrated many successes, especially this weekend. The participants have come a good deal closer to their goals and are noticing changes in their lives and their well-being, small and large. They stand up for themselves in everyday life. They feel physically lighter, because breathing takes away the heaviness. And they understand more and more what living authentically really means and who they are, so they can carry exactly that out into the world.
"Thanks to Body Voices Advanced, I've come out of my resignation and numbness. I now have a goal." – Program participant
"I've become aware of my inner strength, but also of my gentleness. I've finally found the courage to set out for myself." – Program participant
"More has shifted in Body Voices Advanced than in over 30 years of talking therapy. What I've understood in my head for a long time now matches how my body feels. It's finally coherent." – Program participant
We used Sunday to look into the future: What does my life look like in a year if I keep taking good care of myself, keep my goal in sight, and stay on track? What do I wish for my future? So that this vision stands clearly before our eyes, we created vision boards together. Wishes became images, and images became something you can hang on your wall and see in your everyday life. Only when goals and wishes are visible can we align our daily actions with them. On difficult days, this visual North Star gives us the strength to keep going.
"I no longer identify only with the trauma, and I no longer think that something is wrong with me. I'm here now, and I'm ready for my life." – Program participant
"I've realized that I'm still very new on my path, and that it's okay to keep going in small steps, as long as I keep going." – Program participant
The participants carry a backpack full of tools for this path, above all the breath, the main method of the Advanced Program. It enables them to accompany themselves in times of crisis, to strengthen their connection with themselves, and to shape their future according to their wishes.
A Community That Stays
The closing was emotional, and for good reason. Over the past months, a strong community has formed among the participants, carried by courage, honesty, and trust. As we said goodbye, one participant told us: "I finally don't feel alone anymore." The group will continue to meet, and the participants will keep receiving support through the follow-up sessions. The official program ends, but the path does not. Healing and growth are a lifelong journey. We are grateful and full of anticipation for everything these people will make of their lives.
Heartfelt Thanks
Once again, we were wonderfully cared for. Three women from the Inner Wheel Club Reutlingen-Tübingen cooked for us with great love and dedication. Good food gives strength, especially on days when so much is moving inside. A heartfelt thank you to Ina, Inga, and Hanna!
We also thank all the donors from the bottom of our hearts who made this program possible!
