Nr. 0 – An Idea is Born

Eva recalls the moment she had the idea for Body Voices as follows: “I was lying in the practice of my doctor in early 2022. This doctor was the one I went to when things got difficult again and I felt that I needed some help. After the treatment, I felt instantly better. In that very moment I had the idea for Body Voices. I saw myself working with other survivors.”

Eva decides to start Body Voices and launches her first three-day workshop for survivors of sexualized violence with the support of the Ministry of Social Affairs in Stuttgart and the city of Tübingen. As this first workshop was a great success, Eva decides to found the organisation Body Voices to offer further workshops – not only in her home town, but each year in a new country, this is the mission.

Body Voices works on two different levels: There is a quiet level, where the workshops with the survivors take place in a safe space. And there is a public and loud level where the artworks created by Eva for and with the survivors are used. The art raises awareness about sexual violence and overcomes the fear and shame that are still associated with it.
